The Croatian Auto Club and its associated auto clubs, through their jointly founded subsidiary HAK-USLUGE d.o.o., have launched a new service that will let members use replacement vehicles and offer a vehicle rental service to other drivers on the market.
The service is active and is based on offering replacement vehicles both to members of the Croatian Auto Club and to all other customers who need a standard vehicle rental service.
The first batch of new vehicles of various categories from the Ford, Hyundai, Opel and VW Group brands has already been purchased. Several auto clubs associated with HAK are actively involved in the project, primarily as locations for storing, distributing and maintaining the cars. Branches have been set up there, marked with recognisable promotional visuals.
Training for HAK staff and associated auto clubs has also been organised at several levels to meet all quality standards and prepare for the start of operations. Flexible software solutions and quality IT support have been put in place, and electronic monitoring of fuel consumption, mileage, servicing and the general condition of the vehicles will ensure close tracking of the situation in the field.
The synergy of HAK's infrastructure and network of locations, together with the new software solutions, contributes to a high level of quality and speed of service, while the costs of the new service will be significantly lower, with a significant positive financial effect for all users of the service.
This new project also required investment in IT support and digitalisation, i.e. software solutions for the rent a car industry. The vehicle rental service will therefore soon also be integrated into the HAK app and will offer members special benefits. For example, members will be able to book a vehicle automatically without unnecessarily re-entering their details, and members can be located if a replacement vehicle is needed.
HAK Rent a car is conceived as a long-term service developed within HAK that makes use of the existing comparative advantages of HAK's roadside assistance system, and it will also be offered to foreign auto clubs and their members.
The project grew out of the real need of existing HAK members for replacement vehicles, as well as the further development of member benefits and the need for mobility and safety on the road of other drivers who are not yet HAK members.
